Biosurfactants: Potential and Eco-Friendly Material for Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Safety—A Review

With the present climate change and increasing world population, there is an urgent need to discover creative, efficient, cost-effective natural products for benefit of humanity. Biosurfactants are produced by various microorganisms that have several distinct properties compared other synthetic surfactants, including mild production conditions, multifunctionality, higher biodegradability, lower toxicity living cells synthesis active compounds. Due their surface tension reducing, emulsion stabilizing, biodegrading these in place chemical they generating huge demand terms research usage. widely used food industry as food-formulation ingredients antiadhesive agents emulsifiers, de-emulsifiers, spreading agents, foaming detergents find application fields such agriculture, industrial sectors, environmental recreation. Recent focused more on heavy metal bioremediation from compost was achieved using biosurfactants-producing bacteria, which resulted improvement quality. Although a number studies biosurfactants been reported, very limited information its cinematics consumption renewable substrates available. In this review paper, we made attempt critically biosurfactants, usage, related them, challenges faced.
